Quality Assurance Technician

This professional must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in an environment with a high volume of activity.


  • Provides technical support to Manufacturing departments
  • Performs product, process, measurement and test equipment evaluations, analyzes and reports results, and recommends improvements
  • Works with manufacturing to identify root cause and corrective actions
  • Participates on cross-functional and/or improvement project teams
  • Develops process flow charts, work instructions, measurement techniques and product visual standards
  • Provides training for internal apprentices and other staff as required in the assessment of product, and the implementation of improvement projects
  • May work directly with suppliers, vendors and customers to assess and improve performance



  • High School diploma with at least 3 years' experience, or any combination of education and experience in quality assurance, statistics, numerical analysis, or problem solving
  • 3 years' experience using measurement equipment, generating, and organizing quality data for decision-making
  • Experience operating and calibrating laboratory equipment and precision measuring tools
  • Experience creating or modifying training aids, work instructions and reports of technical data
  • Strong use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Visual acuity - ability to discern samples against standards
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Skills in concisely communicating technical data and instructional information both verbally and in writing
  • Experience with problem solving, multi-tasking, and training others to complete job-related tasks
  • Strong math skills, including statistical terms and basic analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of SPC, gauge R&R, basic statistical techniques, and database management
